L.A. Lakers and the Utah Jazz Welcome Each Other Again in the Playoff

Kobe Bryant’s NBA Defending Champions L.A. Lakers will again play against Deron William’s surging Utah Jazz in two straight years in the Playoffs with Los Angeles emerging as winners each time, one leading to L.A. Lakers winning the plum in 2009.

Two teams at full strengths are well matched but both teams have been struggling with recent injuries of players and the Jazz got it more from Mehmet Okur who will be out for at least a year, to Andrei Kirilenko not expected to play until Game 3, and to Deron Williams with elbow injury but is expected to play Game 1 anyway. Laker’s got, too, some minor problem about player injury with Lakers Center Andrew Bynum with small tear in the meniscus in his right knee and is questionable to play Game 1 of Los Angeles Lakers’ second-round playoff opener in their home court against the Jazz.

Both teams have met during the 2009-2010 regular season where the Lakers is victorious for 3 games to Utah Jazz winning just one game. But the Jazz have recently knocked out the Camelo Anthony’s Denver Nuggets in the First Round, winning 4 games in the best of seven games. The Denver Nugget beats the Lakers thrice in a regular season which was eliminated by the Utah Jazz in the First Round Playoff.

Clearly the Lakers’ Big Four (Bryant, Gasul, Artest and Odom) had some slight advantages versus the Jazz. Though the Jazz excelled in some big road games in recent years and winning a first-round playoff series without a homecourt in three of the past four postseason, but it is the Lakers who hold an advantage holding a 14 straight wins over the Jazz at the Staples Center, including three playoff wins in each of the past two seasons.

But the ball is round, both teams are great and have it's chances of winning. It's going to be an exiting match-up. Check us for more NBA.

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Destroys Sugar Shane Mosley

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has proven his mettle over and over again by destroying Sugar Shane Mosley in a lopsided 12 rounds, Saturday Night, May 1, at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada. All three judges saw it in favor of Mayweather 119-109, 119-109 and 118-110, a unanimous decision for this brilliant fighter at his peak.

Mayweather showed the world what his boxing skills could do, proving that he is second to none. Floyd’s blistering speed and almost laser-like jabs made Mosley look like an amateur and nearing an end aged boxer. His renowned defensive skills held Mosley to only 92 punches landed while he connected an astonishing 123 punches landed of 267 power shots. Mosley’s lucky rounds were in Round 1 and Round 2, specifically in Round 2 where he almost knocked-out Mayweather with a bombing right hand to the side head. But the night belongs only to Mayweather where he dominated the last 10 rounds by genius boxing at its highest level. He did it offensively by standing toe to toe with the bigger Mosley and even stalked Mosley. Firing his trademark pull counter punches which saw Mosley’s head clearly snapping with a punch. Mayweather did this to a great fighter who knocked out nearly 80% of his opponents. Mayweather is just too skilled for an aging Mosley. He is just too much for Mosley to conquer.

So, the Who’s Next? issue is now clamoring out there. Hopefully Manny Pacquiao . . . and that fight will feat current and former P4P King and probably will be the biggest fight of all time, who knows, but let’s just wait for it to happen.

Congratulations Floyd for a job well done.

Friends, I welcome you in my blogspot with a bang! My first blog will commence with the Mayweather vs. Mosley fight at MGM Grand Arena in the Night of May 1. This Super Fight has been the talk-about fight of every boxing follower. Two of the best in the world will fight in a Super Fight that’s like a dream come true for every boxing fan. Who r u Picking?

But before we could watch the fight, first we must know the undercard which showcases young prospects. The undercard features some brilliant boxers that could become, someday, the future kings of the ring.

First is Saul El Canelo Alvarez (31 Wins, 23 KO, 0 Loss), the current WBA Fedecentro Welterweight Champion, WBO Latino Welterweight Champion, NABF Welterweight Champion and WBC Youth Welterweight Champion, which ranks 11th in the world in the welterweight division. Challenging Saul Alvarez is Miguel Angel Cotto’s brother Jose Miguel Cotto (31 Wins, 23 KO, 1 loss, 1 draw) of Puerto Rico, also a young prospect, in which his only loss was a 12 round-decision to Juan Baby Bull Diaz in a face to face slug of fist.

Come-backing Daniel Ponce De Leon is the current WBC Latino Featherweight Champion and the former WBO Junior Featherweight Champion that defended his title six times but was defeated by a T.K.O. in the first round in the hands of Juan Manuel Lopez where he lost the WBO Junior Featherweight title.
